Travel, Trekking & No Internet

Posted on
With week-long gaps in computer access, keeping a travel blog was no easy task. Public wifi in Europe was either extremely finicky or completely nonexistent - a nice break from “reality” and email alerts, but a frustration as well.
The highlight of this past week was my bucket list experience of seeing the Matterhorn. Arriving in Zermatt by train, we hiked about 10 miles out of town and stayed in this adorable Swiss mountain hut for two nights:
With views of glaciers, sheep, eagles, marmots, & ibex there was never a dull moment in 4 days of trekking across the Alps.
I fell in love with the Swiss mountain towns - this is downtown Zinal, a secluded mountain village with only one small main street.
I can't deny that I am glad to be back to the normalcy of life in the USA, but I can't wait to go back.
